Originally published anonymously in France in 1954, Pauline Réage's novel, Story of O, has never lost its controversal appeal. The book tells the odyssey of sexual submission and simultaneous liberation of a young woman known only as O.

The themes of spiritual and sexual bondage are graphically expressed as O endures countless indignities in order to prove her devotion to her lover.

What better text to illustrate an obsession of another sort: fashion.
